Sir A. Ernest de Silva a renowned businessman, diplomat, philatelist of par excellence and Lady De Silva's eldest daughter Shirline Lakshminie of "Sirimathipaya"of Fower road Colombo7 [now taken over as the Preime Minister's office] tied her nuptial knot to Don Situge Wilson De Silva of "Semidale" estate of Henegama Akuressa on 7th June ,1941.
Shirline Lakshminie was a close friend of Minnette de Silva.She recalls thus:
"I grew up a part of the millieu of these families whose children became my close friends especially Sir Ernest's daughters Shirline and Swarnapali"
