Colombo District Judge Dhammika Ganepola on the 17th of March issued an enjoining order restraining the Seylan Bank from auctioning the Plaintiffs property situated at Polgahawala.operative till the 31 of March.
The plaintiff in this case is an English instructor of the Sri Lanka Law College Laitha Nathaniels sought relief from court that there was no accurate description of property in the mortgage bond executed by the Bank therefore the resolution adopted by the bank is void in law.
Hemantha Situge instructed by Sujeewa Lal Kumara appeared for the Plaintiff
Rohana Muhandiramge senior officer of the Bank appeared for the Seylan Bank
